Here are a few anti-Verizon images for your linking use. I'd still like for people to post at least one text link to Verizon (necessary for Google-bombing), but if you want to put a semi-permanent link on your site (say, in your sidebar), here are some images you can use.

     Verizon Sucks
This badge fits the style of the RSS badges from Antipixel.

     Verizon Sucks
This badge is just plain fantastic.

     Verizon Sucks
This badge is the same size as MT's and would look fine next to or below it.

I feel your pain. In my old apartment, when Verizon wouldn't offer us dsl service, we called Covad, who installed dsl for us using of course, Verizon's wires. Then everytime a Verizon repair guy was in the neighborhood, he would stop by our basement and rip the wire out of the wall. According to the Covad guy, it has something to do with Covad being non-union. Thanks Verizon!

Fork over the cash and get a satellite ISP.

All this talk about evil Verizon has really made me appreciate my AT&T broadband cable modem. I still use Verizon for long distance calls and I think after all this I'm about ready to cancel that and switch to something else. So there ya go Garrett, DAMN THE MAN!

Shawn Weeks on 03/01/2003:

I would put one of the buttons on my website, but as it is a portfolio, I don't want to possibly piss off a future employer or client. I've hated Verizon for the longest time - "Can you hear me now?" No, I can't fucking hear you now, because frankly, the cell phone coverage area is 15x15 feet, even though it claims to be great in the area.

One conversation with them a few months back:

Me: "Um, yes, Verizon. I don't get service. You said it'd be perfect. I'd like to terminate my contract."

Retards: "That's fine. We will now proceed to charge you a $350 termination fee."

Me: "I'd approve if you all died."

Click.

It took the s.o.b.'s three months to bury a "temporary" service line which they left after a backhoe cut the original. During that time we were visited by six - count 'em, six - assorted assholes, idiots and liars. All of these people promised immediate action to fix this hazard and then disappeared forever. Finally, we e-mailed the Fla. Public Service Commission and Verizon sent a big wheel in charge of all underground wires everywhere. He was accompanied by an oaf with a shovel who took all of 20 minutes to fix the problem. Question: what took them so long?
"VERIZON: WE NEVER START WORKING FOR YOU!"

Verizon: Oh it's up April 24th
Jason: can I cancel it then?
Verizon: Sure

Next month we recieve a bill for $150 for early termination - she failed to tell him it was up in 2004, when he changed his phone number they put him on a 2 year agreement without telling him that - granted it was in the contract - however it still is pretty dishonest to me, I hope that company goes down like Enron or WorldCom, that would make me happy.

PhotoJ on 07/17/2003:

The bastards! Just got off the phone with those bloodless vampires and so pissed off I am talking to myself.

After booting around my 'move order' for six weeks, that incredibly got changed to a new order so my rates went up, SHOCKER!, the service never actually worked.

Got comped for the month of May for lack of service but they just put it back on the bill! They say that I never got a confirmation number when I called to complain about the service. This is while they admit I was using the free dial-up service. You would think that someone who had ordered and apparently is paying for dsl would have an open ended complaint about using fucking dial-up!

Cancelled the service after three years, which actually wasn't bad until you moved, which I did twice and ended up in hell of lost orders and the retarded sales dept., and got billed for the two weeks left in the month. Amazingly they are going to refund that but will not budge on the May charge fo $29.

I hope these folks finally get what is coming to them. Not the mindless drones answering the phone but the shit stuffed suits running that place.

phone guy on 07/22/2003:

I see a lot of complaints about Verizon, and to be honest, I share your issues. I work for Verizon, and in the DSL world, so here's my take on it. If you believe everything you get from a website, you are a sucker. If you believe everything you hear from a Verizon rep, again, you're a sucker, but I'm going to be brutally honest with each and every one of you. If you think there's another phone company that will do you any better, guess what, they're all the same, oh, and your cable modem, wait till a few more people sign on, you'll be begging for dial up.

Rick on 09/18/2003:

I had Verizon for my local service in Michigan and I can't tell you how many times I had those assholes out to fix my line for static. They kept telling me the trouble was either inside my house or not there because I was imagining it. Too bad for them that I work for SBC and have been a repair tech for seven years. Finally I conviced the moron and his manager to replace the service wire to the house and that at least cleared the static so I could hear the other party on my phone. I never did get the assholes to change the cable pairs coming from the office even after I brought home my test set from work and proved the trouble was in the cable 1200ft from my house. He just looked at me with a dumb look and insisted my meter was wrong and I didn't understand telephone work. FUCK HIM! I only do telephone work for a living.

Anyways, long story short...I now have a company called Vonage which is a voice over IP. It runs my phone over my cable modem. $25.00 per month gets me my choice of area codes, 500 LD minutes, and unlimited local calling to a huge area. Only bad part is I have to pay $ for a cable modem, but after getting it I would kill myself if I had dial up. Go to www.vonage.com and take a look. The line works great and it is cheap as hell.

Nicole on 10/16/2003:

If they cant do a simple cell phone service worth a shit, what makes you people think they can swing DSL!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Tommy on 11/11/2003:

Hi Everybody,

Let me give you some advice...Never do business with verizon...they have the worlds worst customer service...they screwed me over $300 dollars on my cell phone bill...I can only compare there services to American Airlines...They lie to you every time you call in...

Tommy

OhEsTen on 11/18/2003:

It took those $#!tHeads over 1 month to get my phone connected. I moved out to a new community in Palm Desert/Indio and they told me it would be 2 weeks. Well after 2 weeks went by, a Verizon idiot came out then left. The note on my door said that he couldn't hook up our phone line because the Developer did not "pull the cables through enough". Apparently his short ass arms couldn't reach. So I called the developer and he came out and said the wire WAS pulled through, the verizon idiot just pulled it through too much so he wasn't able to grab the other end! GREAT! I RUN MY BUSINESS FROM MY HOME WTF AM I SUPPOSED TO DO?
I call verizon. They say the earliest they can have someone out is another 2 WEEKS! I can't believe this! How am I to run my business then? "Do you have a cell phone?" asks the jackass on the line: "Yes, are you going to pay my dam bill?"
Finally my phone gets connected. The same month of September, I get a bill from AT&T (cell phone provider) for $400.00. Then on October 18th I get my first verizon bill for $145.00! WTF?! Why so much? The bill was 12 pages long! I called them up, and the dick on the line explains everything away "standard setup cahrges". (Setup charges my ass, I know its just some dumb fuck flipping a switch). I tell him that I can't afford to pay their bill this month because I am paying off my cell phone-"ok thats fine". Now (November 17th) my phone was disconnected. No warning. Two weeks after the due date of my first bill. After calling them up, they tell me repeatedly that they will not turn my phone back on until I pay them $145.00. "I don't have the money now...I can pay you part of the bill...'Sorry sir, but your phone will not be turned back on until you pay the $145.00'-FUCK YOU".

I can't believe this is legal? They don't work with you? They refuse to split the bill up-I AM NOT A FUCKING DEADBEAT, I JUST MOVED INTO A HOUSE AND AM TRYING TO PAY ALL OF THE FUCKING "FIRST CONNECT" FEES FOR ALL OF THE UTILITIES AND SHIT!" I didn't know that my phone company had a 2 week "grace period"! And the worst part of it is that there is no one else to use! FUCK THEM TO DEATH!"

Ricardo on 11/19/2003:

I was genuinely interested in your complaints until... yes, until I realized that most of you are in the east. No wonder. Why is it that businesses in the east (and customers too) are so obnoxious about stuff they have no right to have in the first place? Several businesses there (not all, but most big time ones like telephone, ISPs, etc.) have this 1950s Ma Bell attitude of screw the customer; we'll do as we please attitude; try and stop us.
And... yes, And... there are the customers who "think" they have "rights" to have things that they don't. Who says you guys have a right to any telephone service in the first place; hey, it isn't something that just because you breath and eat food, you have a human right to have; ck out the rest of the world and get real. Nobody owes you anything because you're alive.
Yeah, I agree Verizon is a bozo company (good ole GTE regurgitated under another name) out east, and you have the right to disconnect and hate them, but that is as far as it goes. Nobody owes you service because you are alive; tell that to someone in Russia or South America and see how much pity you get.

Yeah, you almost had me going; I've read the same crap from the minority of easterners like yourself that have "real" problems with Cell One too; it is worse BTW than Verizon; then there's Radio Shaft. But get real and be grateful for what you "do" get; nobody owes you a thing.

Verizon doesn't just screw around with residential customers...click on my link regarding my horrible day with Verizon at work and their crappy naked DSL. I hate them so much, they have made my life hell.

My Verizon Hell; I got y'all beat by a mile.

I'm an Apple Systems Engineer, living in the Virginia boonies. As such, my connectivity choices are three; dial-up, ISDN (128K) and Sattelite (a physics lesson in latency). So, I've used ISDN for a few years. Normally my monthly ISDN bill is $70, which is clearly stated on my contract. This is the 3rd time in a year that Verizon erroneously billed me $3K or more for one month. Despite their stupidity, it's really not a complicated problem. They keep charging me for service by the minute yet my contract stipulates $70 a month for unlimited connectivity. In the last 90 days, I have spoken to 20+ different Verizon employees, consuming countless hours, and the problem is still not resolved. On previous over-billing occasions I was able to contact the Business ISDN Sales Office directly. They had my contract on file and would admit the glitch, then credit my account. However, I am now told that the ISDN Business Office no longer exists and my contract cannot be located or verified. The result, I could get stuck with this blatently incorrect $3800 bill for one month of service. Today, my frustration got the better of me and I calmly told the billing Manager I was talking to that I had no other choice but to turn the matter over to my attorney. His response, and I quote; "if you fail to pay your bill, we will ruin your credit record" CLICK. Oh, if I only had that recorded. I'm not sure which will be worse; my attorney fees or going back to dial-up.
