MT Users Apparently Bad Dates
posted on august 11, 2003, tag: movable type
This not surprising, but apparently Movable Type users are also bad dates. One might make the assumption based on their enjoyment of something related to technology—which usually means their non-enjoyment of time spent with the opposite sex. Case in point this evening:
I showed up at the Scratcher for the first International Movable Type Meetup. It was supposed to be at 7PM. I got there early, having headed over after work at six. I waited until 7:40PM, and no one showed.
It's bad to be stood up by a date, but pathetic to be stood up by a bunch of personal-website-writing nerds. Boo.

I think one of the problems was that it wasn't focused enough. There were so many meet-ups in so many cities that I don't think one individual meetup seemed like a big enough deal. Also, numbers were limited since it was exclusive to MT users. From previous reading it seems that big meetings that didn't discriminate based on software have been successful. Of course, none of this has anything to do with why I didn't go.

Thats sad. Certainly I am not one among the bad dates. I am infact looking forward to an MT meetup in Bangalore. Not sure when would that happen anywaz.
