On the Scale of Pointlessness...

...this ranks 10. Just above ordering salad at a steakhouse and just below waiting for crosswalk signs to say "walk" in New York. In an effort to escape xPad for at least a little while today, I spent just over an hour creating a "Maniacal Rage" theme for my cell phone.
And, of course, what kind of person would I be if I didn't allow you to download the theme (28k) and use it yourself if you'd like to (this will only apply to crazy people who also happen to have a cell phone like mine). It requires a Sony Ericsson T610/616 phone (won't work on the older T68/i phones, sorry).

Like you, I also like to revel in all things pointless. How about a pointless entry about how you did it?

Ah, right:
I followed this tutorial and used Theme Creator Pro for Windows. There doesn't sem to be an up-to-date OS X theme maker for these phones.
Since I'm lazy and didn't want to go through measuring all these different images, etc, I just opened the images from another theme and used them as size guides for my theme.
Turned out pretty well. Then, of course, I copied the theme file to my G5 and used Bluetooth to copy it over to the phone.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask!

Do you like your T616? My T68i is on the blink and it looks like I may need to get a new phone... I love my T68i, but I'm on my second one. Methinks it's time to upgrade.

Yes, more info about the phone and your feelings on it, please. I have a Nokia 6310i, and I'm really used to the Nokia interface - is the Sony/Ericcson one as easy to use? Are the buttons too small on the phone? What's the predictive text messaging like? And so on.

I believe this would be an OS X theme creation widget for the T610/616. Haven't tried it though... just a bit too pricey.
