xPad Version 1.1

posted on august 23, 2004, tag: xpad

After a few weeks of getting back to work on xPad, I'm finally releasing version 1.1. You can get it right now at the xPad site. Version 1.1 is just the beginning of a new development cycle which will feature lots of regular updates. From the press blurb Shawn wrote:

xPad 1.1 is a maintenance release and is free for registered users. Version 1.1 enhances usability and fixes outstanding bugs. Changes include the addition of true auto-save, drawer transparency, changed next/previous keyboard shortcuts as well as numerous user interfaces enhancements and bug fixes. For more information or to download visit http://www.getxpad.com.

I'm all for the feedback—hit me with it. I'm obviously still taking feature requests and so on as well.

Is there a readme available online to see what the bug fixes, features, etc. that 1.1 cover?

I've updated this entry to include the press blurb which lists a few new features. I'm also reworking the xPad site a little bit to include this kind of information.

Bear with me.

Congratulations! I'd be using it if I had a Macintosh... :)

I just did a backflip. When I first got a Mac (my beloved PowerBook) I found xPad and secured a license. When I read that you probably wouldn't be returning to it for a while (if ever) my heart sunk a little. But all melodrama aside, it's great to get a new version! Thanks so much!

If you're looking for feature requests I'd request that the New Document dialog allow you to set the category of the new note, right from the get-go.

Ahh, I could use an application like that under Windows. I really could. I will keep my hopes hight, for when I buy another Mac again (the last two I had had to go for a more needed $).
